Suggested Application Rates
1. Top-Dressing Nutrient-Deficient Soil
Sprinkle the Nutrient Pack evenly across the top layer of soil, gently scratch or till into the surface, and water thoroughly. For strict no-till systems, top-dressing works well; however, lightly working it into the upper root zone delivers nutrients to the rhizosphere faster.
2. General Container & Garden Application Rates
- Pots & Containers: Apply 1 cup per 10 gallons of soil.
- Outdoor Garden Beds: Apply 1/2 cup per square foot of soil.
3. Mixing Water-Only Living Soil (DIY Recipe)
This recipe creates approximately 100 gallons (~0.5 cubic yards) of premium living soil:
- 45 gallons Sphagnum Peat Moss
- 35 gallons Aeration Amendment (Pumice, Perlite, or Lava Rock)
- 20 gallons High-Quality Compost or Earthworm Castings
- 48 cups KIS Organics Nutrient Pack
Mixing Instructions: Mix ingredients thoroughly on a tarp or clean surface and water to field capacity (squeeze soil firmly; only 1–2 drops of water should come out). Turn the pile the following day, then every other day for 7 to 14 days until soil temperatures cool to ambient room temperature.
