KiS Water Only Soil Mix is a living soil for all container and raised bed plants. It is formulated to go from seedling to flower with no inputs but water. It contains the beneficial biology, nutrients and minerals your plants need to stay healthy for several months.
Key things we want you to know
Sizes: 1 cubic foot bags (plain, unmarked bags, about 35 lbs) and 1.5 cubic foot bags (about 42 lbs). Bulk starts at 1 cubic yard.
Container size: We recommend a minimum of 7 gallons for a full cycle plant.
Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist, near field capacity. No bottled nutrients needed.
Key Product Highlights
- We use lab and microscope tested compost and peat to ensure good biological activity.
- The soil is inoculated with additional microorganisms to increase microbial life and nutrient cycling.
- No synthetic chemicals. There is no need for bottled nutrients and no worry about burning your plants. Just plant and water until harvest.
- Registered as a fertilizer because of the high level of fertility in the mix.
- Can be reused with small amendments between cycles. We have tested and re-amended the soil for up to 5 years in indoor beds.
- Can be used indoors or outdoors. This soil is alive, so expect some insects and other small organisms. They are part of a healthy soil food web.
- Our unique combination of minerals and pH management has allowed growers to pass heavy metal testing in numerous states since the original formulation. Heavy metals present in the formulation have been tested and found to be relatively unavailable to the plant.
Ingredients

Suggested Application
- For indoor growing, use 60 to 90 gallons of soil per light.
- Water frequently to keep soil evenly moist. To test, squeeze a handful firmly. If only a drop or two of water comes out, the soil is near capacity.
- When using a moisture meter, aim for 80 mbar. For best results use Blumat irrigation.
- If you wish to add nutrients, refer to the rest of our product line or use other nutrients at 1/4 of their recommended rate. See our advanced nutrient schedule.
- If growing a larger plant in a small container, top dress weekly with the KiS Nutrient Pack.
Safety & Handling
