The KIS Organics 50-Gallon Microbulator is a commercial-grade Aerated Compost Tea (ACT) brewer engineered in partnership with soil biological expert Tim Wilson of Microbe Organics. Designed for small farms, commercial growers, and living soil operations, the Microbulator delivers exceptional dissolved oxygen (DO) levels and continuous active water circulation using air power alone—completely eliminating the need for microbe-damaging water pumps.
FREE SHIPPING INCLUDED: This product qualifies for Free Standard Shipping within the continental United States! (Excludes Alaska, Hawaii, US Territories, and APO/FPO locations).
Key things we want you to know
Container Requirement: Requires a standard 55-gallon (US) plastic barrel with correct dimensions (55-gallon barrel is NOT included).
Circulation Rate: Active flow rate of 6.3 gallons per minute—cycling the full 50 gallons of water every 8 minutes.
Dual Configuration: Works in both free-suspension and extractor bag modes for customized particulate control.
Easy Maintenance: Fully dismantles for thorough cleaning in under 40 minutes.
Product Features & Specifications
- Air-Driven Active Circulation: High-efficiency airlift housing circulates 6.3 GPM using air alone, preventing dead zones without shearing delicate fungal hyphae or protozoa.
- 3-Way Oxygenation Mechanism: Combines in-pipe diffuser injection, fine-bubble surface agitation, and a high-fall return nozzle that breaks surface tension for maximum CO₂ gas exchange and O₂ absorption.
- High Dissolved Oxygen (DO) Maintenance: Consistently maintains DO levels between 8.8 and 9.8 PPM across 24- to 48-hour brew cycles.
- Commercial Air Pump Included: Powered by a durable 3.5 CFM diaphragm air pump (backed by a 1-year manufacturer warranty).
- Custom PVC Diffusers: Features machine-slotted PVC diffusers designed specifically for heavy biological agitation.
- Versatile Application: Run in free-suspension mode for maximum biological density, or use the included extractor bag for low-particulate foliar applications.
- Instructional Resources: Includes operational and assembly video tutorials.
Engineered for High-Density Living Soil Biology
Developed to surpass standard commercial brewers, the Microbulator continuously extracts and multiplies beneficial soil microorganisms, including bacteria, archaea, fungal hyphae, flagellates, and amoebae. Its high-flow design ensures uniform microbial distribution throughout the barrel—simply hold a container under the return nozzle to pull clean, representative samples for microscope evaluation.
Brewing & Equipment Configurations
- Free-Suspension Mode: Compost is added directly to the water for maximum biological yield. After a 24-hour brew, remove the apparatus, allow heavy solids to settle, and pump off the liquid.
- Extractor Bag Mode: Place compost inside the included mesh extractor unit. Highly recommended when using coarse compost (1/2" to 1" pieces) or when preparing tea for fine foliar spray nozzles.
- Optimal Brew Times: 24 hours when paired with KIS Organics Compost Tea Brewing Kits.
Cleaning & Maintenance Protocols
Keep the air pump running while lifting the apparatus out of the tea to prevent liquid backflow into the diffusers and air lines. Disassemble the PVC components and flush thoroughly with fresh water, a soft scrub brush, or a pipe cleaner. Extractor bags should be rinsed immediately after use and can be washed using an oxygen bleach cleaner like OxyClean.
