Cannabis Cultivation and Science Podcast Episode 46

My guest this week is Reggie Gaudino. Reggie is the chief science officer for Steep Hill Labs. Dr. Gaudino oversees all scientific research and development for Steep Hill and is the driving force for Steep Hill's genetic research program. Dr. Gaudino directed a team of researchers which led to the development of GenKit™, the first cannabis DNA-based sex test. The research from Dr. Gaudino has been peer-reviewed and published, leading to important new discoveries in the cannabis industry.

Dr. Gaudino received his BS in Molecular Biology and PhD in molecular genetics from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and he conducted 4 years of post-doctoral research at Washington University in St. Louis, studying transcriptional regulation of rRna. Reggie was one of the first African-American molecular biologists to enter a PhD program in the United States in 1985.

I really enjoyed my conversation with Reggie and we ran out of time to discuss Steep Hill and some of his current work. I plan on following up with him for a 2nd part to this interview.
