Fertilpots - Biodegradable Wood Fiber Pots

Please call 425.558.0990 for most accurate shipping options.

Fertilpots are biodegradable wood fiber pots composed primarily of Spruce (Picea abies) fibers, and are sustainably manufactured without the use of glues or binders.

What makes these pots so exciting is that they are 100% biodegradable, OMRI approved, and promote air pruning similar to fabric pots. The air pruning is really what separates these containers from other types like peat based pots for example.

Fertilpots offer a bunch of other benefits:

  • Eliminates transplant shock associated with traditional transplant methods
  • No risk of plant becoming root bound
  • Promotes excellent root structure
  • No more storing and disinfecting of plastic or fabric containers
  • Reduces transplanting labor dramatically
  • OMRI approved
  • 100% biodegradable
  • No risk of leaching or heavy metal contamination (see my blog post)
  • Very affordable on a commercial scale

I'm so excited to begin using these containers in our greenhouse production. I'm sick and tired of storing plastic containers and contributing to their manufacture. In my experience, plastic containers have a huge ecological footprint and most end up in landfills.
